My sweet and spicy 9-year-old familiar and feline child, Pueo, had a tumor removed back in April. It turned out to be an aggressive form of mast cell cancer, which is rare in cats.
Since then it’s been a whirlwind of vet appointments, tests, and trying different treatment options. It has also been extraordinarily expensive, and it has wiped out my savings.
I’ve been selling St. Francis and St. Gertrude beads to help, but I would need to sell a LOT of rosaries to keep up with her care. The charitable animal organizations I’ve found are tapped out, though I keep applying for grants just in case. My friends and family have been pitching in, and I’ve been scratching and saving, but the costs have moved beyond my reach very quickly. A GoFundMe is an option, but I’d rather offer something in exchange for your support and keep the good energy circulating.
Pueo has been helpful when I’ve had cards out in the past and in asking her what she could do to help I got the intuitive hit that she could pick cards (aka do readings) for people. I then set out my favorite deck, Tarot of Curious Creatures by Chris-Anne and cut the deck into 3 stacks. I asked her to pick a stack. She did nothing. So I went on about my day. A while later I noticed her back on the table in front of the cards so I approached and asked her again. She put a paw on a stack so I pulled the top card. It was the High Priestess! I took that as a nod to make this is our fundraiser. I’m putting Pueo to work and I will be her assistant.
